Contributor Guidelines

Share Your Prairie or Scandinavian Story

Nordic Prairie Life is a space for gathering, heritage, and tradition. I explore Scandinavian culture through a Canadian prairie lens. I trace Finnish and Norwegian threads alongside Western Canadian life.

I love connecting with fellow writers, bakers, and creators. We can celebrate our roots together.

Nordic Prairie Life is an independently run passion project and cannot currently offer payment for contributed work. Published contributors receive a byline and author bio, and their work may be shared through Nordic Prairie Life’s channels. Publication decisions and outbound links are made independently and included only when they are editorially relevant and useful to readers.

Ways You Can Contribute

  • Guest Blogging: Write an original piece for this website.

  • Editorial Collaborations: Propose an interview, jointly researched story, themed project, or other idea that fits Nordic Prairie Life.

  • Creative Collaborations: Let's brainstorm unique heritage or seasonal projects.

I look for storytelling that feels personal, cozy, and intentional. Your submission should touch on at least one core theme:

  • Heritage & Culture: Scandinavian roots or Canadian prairie history.

  • Food & Recipes: Seasonal cooking, family baking, or traditional kitchen projects.

  • Gathering & Tradition: Seasonal rituals, memory-making, and community celebrations.

  • Heart & Memory: Reflections on love, grief, identity, and belonging.
