Quick biscuits

These quick biscuits can be ready in about 20 minutes. Pictured above with white bean, artichoke hummus.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unbleached, all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar
    ~

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 tbsp oil or butter

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 375°F

  2. mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, & sugar)

  3. add buttermilk and oil/butter.

  4. mix until you have a uniform, shaggy dough that sticks together

  5. roll out (or press) dough until it is about 2 cm thick

  6. cut with a circular cutter or cup
    (alt) free form biscuits with hands

  7. set on lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until golden, flipping halfway through
    (alt) heat large, flat pan on medium high and set the biscuits on
    cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden

  8. enjoy!
